上海德英乐学院十一年级学生诗歌鉴赏

会写诗的人,对生活有深刻的理解,懂得诗与远方的意境。上海德英乐学院11年级的学生做英文诗歌,这在很多人眼里看来不可思议,但是在上海德英乐学院英语老师Ms. Catherine Johnson看来,这只是英语学习的一次小练习。

In 11 Literature, students produced works of Erasure Poetry. Erasure Poetry is a style that is created by taking pages from an original book and erasing the text to only leave selected words. This leaves challenges, as the grammar of the original book can't be changed, and you can't insert new words or punctuation. Therefore, it takes skill to understand the words in their context in the book, but then to also use them outside it to create a story.

在11年级的文学课中,学生们参与创作了“消除诗歌”。“消除诗歌”要求孩子们从原版书中挑选几页出来,消除其中的若干文本,仅留下一些剩余的词句。这颇有挑战性,一方面原版书的语法不能动,另一方面学生们也不能插入新的单词或标点。因此,来理解语境中的单词本身有难度,在这基础上,**如何在文本之外使用它们,来编织一个故事,更加考验孩子们的技巧。

Ms. Catherine Johnson 对CecIlia & Yulia的作品十分赞赏,她点评道:

"Yulia and Cecilia in Year 11 constructed erasure poems from the novel we studied this year in class: Small Island. Yulia's poem presents a commentary on racism, challenging our views of skin colour as they are challenged in the book. Cecilia's poem presents a story of people who are unable to communicate, and a story of being forced out of home. They are thought-provoking poems that show our students' progress in using language - and the promise of future poetry to come!"

译文:

11年级的Yulia和Cecilia在我们本学年学习的小说《小岛屿》之上创作了“消除诗歌”。Yulia的诗歌是对种族主义的一番评论,正如书中对人种肤色话题的探讨一样,挑战了我们对其的原有认知。Cecilia的诗歌呈现了一个有关人们无法交流,被迫离开家园的故事。她们的诗歌引人深思,不仅表明了孩子们在语言上的进步,也让我们对孩子们未来的诗歌创作充满了期待!
