10月19日，上海德英乐学院校园艺术展开幕，来自艺术专业的学生，在本次展览中展出自己的作品。其中12年级的Kally Zhou是本次艺术展的亮点。

我们很自豪，举办了本周的SDA秋季艺术展与音乐之夜。艺术展的作品来自于10、11、12年级的学生。开幕式上，有来自11、12年级的学生美妙的音乐表演。艺术作品范围很广，有石墨铅笔绘画、油画、以及多媒体艺术作品，作品的展示将从10月19日至11月6日。

艺术展的高潮部分是学生Kally Zhou 的作品，她是12年级A-level的艺术设计学生，她想在明年前往英国学习建筑。她的艺术造诣在本次艺术展是亮点，同时她的勤奋刻苦也是对SDA学生的激励。

The SDA Art and Music Department were very proud to present a joyful celebration of student art and music this week at the SDA Autumn Art and Music Evening. The show featured the work from students in year 10, 11 and 12. The exhibition opening was accompanied by music performances from our talented AS level music students in years 11 and 12. A wide array of artwork ranging from graphite drawing, oil paintings to multi-media artwork will be on display until November 6, 2020 on the first floor of the SDA campus.

The exhibition highlights the work Kally Zhou, a year 12 A-level Art and Design student at SDA. Her goal is to study Architecture in the UK next year. We are delighted to highlight her accomplishments in this exhibition; her hard work is an inspiration to our rising art students at SDA!

我设计公共图书馆的理念是，随着技术的发展，印刷书籍现在已被许多人逐渐淡忘。通过我的设计，我希望恢复与书籍的关系，并创造一个每个人都可以轻松坐下来阅读的空间。

折叠纸模型的“ concertina-book概念”是形状设计。展开的书页充当建筑物的屋顶，给人以空间和纸张的错觉。我使用木材和塑料作为模型来测试材料的形状，添加了家具以说明建筑物的流程和功能。

My philosophy for designing a public library, is that with the development of techno- logy, printed books are now gradually forgotten by many people. With my design, I hope to restore our relationship with books, and create a space where everyone can sit and read at ease.

A “concertina-book concept” from the folded paper maquette is the shape design. The unfolded book pages act as the roof of the building to give the illusion of space and paper. I used wood and plastic as a model to test the materials of my final work. Furniture has been added to illustrate the flow and function of the building.

人行天桥

我设计人行天桥的目的是使人们能够更轻松地越过河两岸，并欣赏苏州河两岸的历史，文化和独特性。

衍庆里石库门：在上海租界期间，石库门式的仓库由砖木结构的青砖和灰瓦组成，是上海唯一的典型现代英国建筑。

四行仓库：当时是闸北最高，**的建筑仓库。现在，它是中日战争时期的纪念馆。

我用木头做模型展示了我的想法，即功能性遗产和文化遗产的并存。通过设计，行人现在可以步行或骑自行车轻松穿越苏州河，欣赏两岸的风景。桥头下方分配了一个小型展览区和一个休闲空间，供人们参观。

My intention to design a pedestrian bridge, is to enable people to cross both sides of the river with more ease and to appreciate the history, culture and the unique character of each side of the Suzhou River.

YAN’QING’LI SHIKUMEN：During the Shanghai Concession Period, a Shikumen-style warehouse with a brick-and-wood structure of blue bricks and grey tiles is the only typical modern British building in Shanghai.

FOURSAGADE：It was the tallest and largest building warehouse in Zhabei at the time. Now, it’s a memorial hall of the Sino-Japan war time.

I used balsa wood to show my ideas, of the coexistence of both a functional and a cultural heritage. With my design, pedestrians can now easily cross the Suzhou Creek by walking or cycling, enjoying the scenery on both sides of the bank. A small exhibition area and a space of leisure has been allocated underneath the bow of the bridge for people to visit.

我想要通过我的作品呼吁人们保护自然!自然环境在恶化，我们不能视而不见!

在画中，我作为自然的使者，我带着忧郁的眼神望着自然的美好一点点的被垃圾吞噬;自然界的生灵们也因为失去家园而失去了它们原有的色彩。污染下的黑暗与自然的美好光明形成了强烈的对比冲突; 花丛中的纸蝴蝶，代表了自然界的苍白与无力。如果你仔细看这幅作品，会看见脸颊上的细沙。细沙代表人也是自然的一部分，如果我们不保护自然， 我们也会在自然界中随着风沙消逝……保护自然的同时，也在保护我们自己。

My main ideas for my final outcome is calling for protection of nature to make people know how serious it will be if we not protect the natural world.

In my final outcome, l represents a messenger of natural with worried eyes and looking up the path of live and happiness become smaller and slowly disappear. The insect around me are losing their beautiful natural colors, but in grey color, because their habitat were destroying by tons of trash. This represents the sad ending of continuing destroy the natural world.

《生与死》、《中国国粹—京剧》

我是一名IGCSE的艺术生，在此之前我并没接触过，但是对艺术的喜爱让我义无反顾的选择了它，而在学艺术的这两年中也让我受益匪浅，创作出了不少让我爱不释手的作品。

在这两年里我做了两个不同的主题：生与死和中国国粹—京剧。

选择这两个主题的原因都和我的自身经历有关，我的父亲是一名骨科医生，在我很小的时候，我经常当他的小跟班在旁边辅佐他，并且在做这个主题的过程中，我因偶然的机会目睹了一场惊心动魄的手术。正是这些经历让我对生与死有不同的理解，让我想用艺术的方式展示医疗就像是一座桥梁连接着生死。

而京剧，是我**次看京剧表演时被其魅力所吸引和震撼，虽然我接触它的时间不长算不上行家，但是在学习京剧的过程中登台表演过几次，这些大大小小的演出给我了很多感悟：台上一分钟，台下十年功。一场短短两分钟的表演，背后却是每个演员的辛苦付出。灯光下的光彩夺目都是他们一遍又一遍的练习换来的。于是我便用绘画的方式描述了我的对一场优秀京剧表演构造的理解。不管是哪个主题，我觉得艺术源于生活的!

I am an IGCSE art student. I have not learned art before, but I chose art with my love and passion. The two years of learning art have also benefited me a lot.Several works make me feel proud . In the past two years, I have done two different themes: life and death and Chinese national quintessence-Peking Opera. The reasons for choosing these two themes are related to my own experience. My father was a doctor. When I was a little girl, I often followed and imitated him , and when I was working on this theme. I got a chance to see a process of whole operation; these experiences make me have a different understanding of life and death, and make me want to show medical treatment like a bridge connecting life and death in an artistic way. As for Peking Opera, I was attracted and shocked by its charm when I watched a Peking Opera performance for my first time. Although I have not been in contact with it for a long time, it is not considered an expert, I have performed on stage several times during the process of learning Peking Opera. These shows gave me a lot of insights, there is an old saying: one minute on stage, ten years off stage. Behind a two-minute performance was the hard work of each actor. The dazzling brilliance under the light is all the result of their practice over and over again. So I used painting to describe my understanding of the construction of an excellent Peking opera performance. No matter which theme it is, I think art comes from life!
