专业概况

在这里学什么？

The MA in Dance Education is designed for public school dance educators. Students from North Carolina, as well as other states and countries, are welcomed. The degree may be completed only through part-time study, combining online courses at UNCG, summer study on campus, and selected courses taken on campus or online from other institutions. Presently we are admitting students into this program only in alternate (even) years.

The program of study leading to the MA in Dance Education rests on an assumption that experienced teachers working at the graduate level already possess significant knowledge and skill; the program is designed for students who are able to function well as independent learners within a supportive community. Most of the courses involve substantive reading and challenging assignments on which students work over a period of time, receiving extensive feedback from instructors. Peer collaboration and dialogue are built into every course. Peer collaboration using interactive media platforms such as Canvas and Google Chat/Hangouts is essential for assignment completion and staying connected to faculty and peers. The instructors see themselves as facilitators of student learning rather than delivery-persons for content information.

为来自中国的学生设计 All applicants must have obtained the following: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately-evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools; satisfactory academic standing as an undergraduate or in a post-baccalaureate program. Non-native speakers of English must validate proficiency in the English language by one of three means: TOEFL: 79 (paper-based 550); IELTS: 6.5 Band Score; PTE: 67; and ELS: 112.
