专业概况

在这里学什么？ This is a BPS-accredited joint course of Psychology and Criminology, giving you opportunity to combine these two subjects and gain understanding into the human mind and behaviour, and the study of crime, its causes and prevention.Our BSc Psychology with Criminology degree offers a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of psychological science and methods. The course also enables you to gain a critical understanding of crime and criminal behaviour. Alongside the study of human development, cognition, and personality, you will explore why anti-social, deviant and criminal behaviour happens, how the criminal justice system operates, and how crime can be tackled.Psychology modules make up two-thirds of the degree, while Criminology modules make up the other third. This gives students the opportunity to study the core areas of psychology required for BPS accreditation, while developing a solid understanding of criminological theory and research. Throughout your studies you will be taught by experts in the areas of psychology and criminology, as part of the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences.Our Psychology with Criminology degree will be of special interest to students who are fascinated by both psychology and criminal justice as it aims to provide an excellent grounding for those looking to pursue careers within the criminal justice system, forensic psychology or social policy.

为来自中国的学生设计 AAB (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Communication and Culture and Citizenship Studies). In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.
