专业概况

在这里学什么？ Political change and political argument are at the centre of our rapidly changing world. Our BA Politics degree focuses on the key issues and ideas which drive these often controversial developments.Our Politics degree equips you to think critically and analytically about contemporary political issues and institutions. It allows you to understand the mechanics of a variety of political institutions, as well as topical issues, ideas and controversies. The aim of this degree is to both deepen your knowledge and understanding of politics and, in the process, to equip you to become sharper citizens to meet some of the major political challenges of the twenty-first century.The BA (Hons) Politics degree progresses from a foundation in the key concepts of political practice and theory to an in-depth understanding of more specialised subjects such as populism, the EU, political violence, justice and British politics. It is structured around a number of subject areas arranged into modules, each of which is worth a number of credits. It is intended by your final year that you will have successfully completed 360 credits to graduate. 为来自中国的学生设计 AAB (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Communication and Culture and Citizenship Studies). In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.
