Available with full and part-time study routes, this highly-relevant course is designed to meet the needs of graduates and professionals looking to secure progressive career roles in aviation operations and planning. As the first UK course delivered in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) - a world leader in aviation education - the programme draws on our strong industry partnerships and close proximity to two of the UK's international airports. Global air transport is one of the world’s growth industries and is projected to continue experiencing ongoing growth. In 2018 alone, 62.5 million tonnes of valuable and time-critical air cargo was flown around the world. It is predicted that many as 7.8 billion passengers will use air travel by 2036 (in comparison to 4.4 billion in 2018). The forecasts highlight the potential for you to develop a successful long-term career in this field.

A postgraduate qualification in Sustainable Air Transport Operations and Planning will enable you to pursue a range of career paths working with major airports, airlines, air transport regulatory bodies and professional bodies, and air transport consultancies. MSc Sustainable Air Transport Operations and Planning has been specifically developed to meet the needs of employers that face significant sustainability challenges. In developing the course, the team consulted with senior managers from leading UK airports (Manchester Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, London Luton Airport, Gatwick Airport, London Stansted Airport, Aberdeen Airport and Doncaster Sheffield Airport), major airlines (British Airways, Virgin Atlantic Airways, EasyJet and Jet2), UK and international aviation authorities and organisations (NATS, Eurocontrol and The International Civil Aviation Organization) and regional branches of the Royal Aeronautical Society (Manchester Branch), to ensure that the course content and learning outcomes meet employer and industry demands.

Students can also achieve PGDip and PGCert awards.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree from a reputable Chinese university with a GPA of 2.4/4.0 or a final grade of 60% or above will be considered for postgraduate study. Applicants who have completed a higher education self study graduation certificate (zi’kao) with a final grade of 70% or above, and at least two years of relevant work experience, will be considered for postgraduate study. We require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
