专业概况

在这里学什么？ **This is one of the few courses available outside of medicine that combines aspects of human physiology, immunology and infectious diseases. BSc (Hons) Human Biology and Infectious Diseases focuses on human biology and the pathology, transmission and epidemiology of infectious diseases.** Over the three years of study – four, if you opt for a placement year – you will gain a systematic understanding of the key aspects of human biology and infectious diseases whilst developing practical laboratory skills within a supportive environment with excellent facilities. In addition, you will study specialist modules in areas such as Pathophysiology and Veterinary and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. This degree is ideal for careers in biomedicine, sports science, health care, health promotion, pharmaceutical and food industries and forensic science, both in the UK and internationally. Many of our graduates have been employed by large organisations such as AstraZeneca and the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute. 为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants with a graduation certificate from a specialised college or school (zhongzhuan) with a final grade of 60% or above will be considered for the International Foundation Year. Applicants who have completed the huikao (senior secondary school) with a final grade of 60% or above will also be considered. Applicants who have completed three full years of high school and hold a senior secondary school graduation certificate with an overall minimum grade of 60% will be considered for undergraduate study. Applicants who hold a dazhaun qualification with a score of 60% or above will be considered for advanced entry on relevant undergraduate programmes if appropriate modules have been studied. Applicants who have achieved ACC/BCC/BC in graded units on their SQA-HND programme will be considered for final year entry on selected undergraduate business programmes. We require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
