专业概况

Pursue your dream of performing in TV, film, radio, on stage or online with this degree covering the creative and technical aspects of radio programme making, directing, script development, performance management, and lighting for the stage and for the camera.

You will explore practical techniques in performance and production, underpinned by media and cultural theory. Enjoy masterclasses from leading figures in performances areas as well as excellent facilities, industry connections and placement opportunities.

• Learn the skills needed to work within the professional media industries as an actor before the camera, scriptwriter, director, production manager, stage manager for theatre or presenter for radio or screen
• Study a variety of performance and production skills and techniques, with practical work informed by knowledge of media and cultural theory
• Develop the necessary skills, knowledge, self-motivation and professional approach to pursue your ambition to follow a satisfying and stimulating career path
• Gain opportunities for work experience via the Performance Management - Work Based Learning Unit: students are invariably offered paid work after their placement has ended

Graduates are working in front of the camera, presenting on CBBC, community channels and local news. Others are working on radio shows including on Kiss, Radio 1, internet sports radio, and news programmes. Other graduates have gone on to work as members of production teams at Radio 1, Radio 1 Xtra, KISS and BBC Local Radio.
