在这里学什么？ A joint honours degree, our History and Politics BA (Hons) course will give you equal exposure to both subject areas – making it the perfect choice for those of you with an interest in both areas.Our BA (Hons) History and Politics degree offers a range of optional modules to choose from you’ll be able to tailor the course to suit your interests and career aspirations. The course is split equally between the two subject areas. Its structure provides you with the ability to choose from an extensive range of optional modules tailoring the course to suit your interests and career aspirations.The historical component of the degree spans the period from 1600 to the present, focusing mostly on the modern era. Its subject matter includes Britain and mainland Europe, but extends further afield to North America, the British Empire, Soviet Russia, South Asia, Australia and China. It begins with broad survey courses, proceeds with the history of individual countries or themes and culminates in specialist case studies.The political component of the degree equips you to think critically and analytically about contemporary political issues, actors and institutions. It allows you to understand the mechanics of a variety of political institutions at a domestic and international level, as well as topical issues, ideas and controversies.

为来自中国的学生设计 AAB (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Communication and Culture and Citizenship Studies). In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.
