专业概况

在这里学什么？ Biological Sciences is an exciting and rapidly developing field, bringing together knowledge, ideas and techniques from all areas of biology to allow us to expand our understanding of the human body and its interplay with the environment.Our MSci Biological Sciences degree is designed to develop your understanding of the processes underlying life and health in whole organisms, focusing particularly on humans.The course has a fundamental core of biology and introduces you to a variety of topics within biological sciences, with broader consideration of molecular, cellular and organism level processes, particularly those of relevance to human health.Over the duration of our Biological Sciences course you will explore such fascinating topics as human evolution, anatomy and physiology, genetics and molecular biology, growth, developing and ageing.This is one of our recently launched courses in the biosciences made possible by the opening of STEMLab, the University's £17 million investment in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including a suite of bio-laboratories.In the final year, our MSci Biological Sciences degree features a chance to complete a substantial research project in your chosen area of interest. The focus on developing your research skills makes the MSci particularly strong preparation for a career in research or for PhD study.

为来自中国的学生设计 AAB (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Communication and Culture and Citizenship Studies). In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.
