专业概况

This course study the law and governance of strategic decisions on complex economic, environmental, and technological questions around sustainability. You will examine the relationship between energy, the environment, and climate change and how they relate to sustainability throughout all sectors in society. You 'll learn to design and plan interventions for creating change to promote greater sustainability across different scales.

You'll learn to analyse, evaluate, and critically review theory and policy debates relating to sustainability. You will also be able to draw on international perspectives and examples of best practice in relation to methods of evaluation and assessment of sustainability. You will have the opportunity to go on a related placement with industry or the public sector, where you will work on an actual case for real clients. Actively engage in independent research, with the potential to join our PhD community after your Masters. You will also be part of the research community at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) and the wider University, and participate in the annual Dundee Energy Forum and the climate change conference.

Careers

As societies move to become more sustainable and develop low-carbon economies, this course will place you in the fast-growing area of energy, environment, society and governance (EESG) sections of firms, governments and consultancies. The environmental sector is one of the key growth areas in the global economy.

It will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to take up a career in:

为来自中国的学生设计 Students with a Bachelor degree with an overall average grade of 75% or above from a recognised university will be considered and borderline cases if the student has a relevant degree and good grades in relevant subjects and/or relevant work experience of at least 5 years will also be considered. IELTS score of 6.5 overall, including at least 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 in the other three components.
