Molecular Biology and Biotechnology focuses down to the levels of the molecules that support life and uses cutting-edge technology to understand mechanisms driving cell division and disease.

Program Description

The Molecular Biology and Biotechnology program investigates biological systems at the cellular and molecular levels. This involves the use of living cells and the materials they produce to create products for pharmaceutical, diagnostic, agricultural and environmental applications.

Our program includes hands-on learning of sophisticated laboratory techniques and addresses ecological, medical and ethical aspects of this field. You will acquire the tools and skills necessary to successfully compete for positions in industry, government, education or any one of several professional programs including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, just to name a few.

Experiential Learning

Extensive training is provided in both the theory and practice of biotechnology including the development of first-rate biotechnology laboratory techniques. The program is similar in most respects to the biochemistry program, but it has a more biological focus.

为来自中国的学生设计 All programs require successful completion of the OSS Diploma and a minimum 70% average of six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U. English Language Requirements: A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or A minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL); or A minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); or A minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); or Successful completion of the University of Windsor's English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) (level III) with a minimum final grade of 75%; or A minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); or A minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.).
