专业概况

在这里学什么？ The emergence of the field of Cyberpsychology and the unique opportunity at UCLan forged by the partnership between Training 2000 and all elements of Cyber’ Science across the University provides an expertise and skill base to lead the development of this new and exciting field. This is the first undergraduate Cyberpsychology degree course in the UK, students receive a grounding in the core areas of psychology. In the first two years of the course students study modules in Cyberpsychology alongside the core professional body syllabus to ensure they meet the professional body accreditation requirements, this leaves the final year free for the students to specialise in Cyberpsychology. There is, however, an inherent flexibility in the programme which enables students to transfer to any of the other psychology degree titles that exist in our undergraduate programme suite. This is a British Psychological Society (BPS) approved course that bestows Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) upon all graduates with a Lower Second Class Honours degree (or higher). This permits progression to an approved Masters degree in any area of Psychology (Stage I training towards Chartered Status) and subsequent progression to Stage II Chartered Psychologist status. All students are provided with membership of the Professional Body as part of their course fee. UCLan operates the largest UK Undergraduate Research Intern Scheme (URIS) where students have the opportunity to work with staff for a ten week, paid internship over the summer, this enhances both their research skills and employability as they work with leading researchers on “cutting edge” research projects. Much of this work will take place utilising the forty laboratories within the School of Psychology, including the Virtual Reality Suite, Brain Imaging Laboratories and Cognitive Psychology Complex.
