在这里学什么？ Through our BA hons Costume Design course, we’ll prepare you to enter the costume industry as an experienced designer and maker. You’ll learn how costume designers deliver briefs through mirroring industry practice. You’ll analyse, interpret and learn how to apply research skills to generate creative concepts for characters and production scripts used for on screen and live productions. You’ll get to grips with the practical elements of costume design through our studio-based learning and context-based modules.You’ll learn how to work with a range of specialist equipment through specialist workshops. You’ll learn how to use our industrial sewing machines; overlockers; ratchet presses; steam presses; mannequins and more. You’ll also learn the academic practices of costume design, where you’ll gain an understanding of the history and culture of costume design practice.What’s more, you’ll graduate ready to move into professional environments such as live theatre, film/ television, festivals, dance, and light entertainment. 为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants with a graduation certificate from a specialised college or school (zhongzhuan) with a final grade of 60% or above will be considered for the International Foundation Year. Applicants who have completed the huikao (senior secondary school) with a final grade of 60% or above will also be considered. Applicants who have completed three full years of high school and hold a senior secondary school graduation certificate with an overall minimum grade of 60% will be considered for undergraduate study. Applicants who hold a dazhaun qualification with a score of 60% or above will be considered for advanced entry on relevant undergraduate programmes if appropriate modules have been studied. Applicants who have achieved ACC/BCC/BC in graded units on their SQA-HND programme will be considered for final year entry on selected undergraduate business programmes. We require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.
