Developed and awarded by Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, UK.

The two-year programme is offered through Birmingham Business School’s Departments of Accounting and Finance. The University of Birmingham is one of the Top 15 universities in the UK subject table rankings for Accounting and Finance (The Complete University Guide 2020).

This programme is designed for prospective students with an average Grade B who wish to pursue an accounting or financial career in business, professional practice or the public sector.

An SIM Preparatory Course in Accounting and Finance is available for non-Accounting related diploma holders.

As financial markets integrate and business operations diversify, the need for adoption of common global accounting practices intensifies. The programme will give you a firm technical grounding in accounting and finance as well as a wider appreciation of business issues within a global political, legal and social environment.

Career Prospects

Students are offered the opportunity to engage with work experience via a third year optional module, Professional Development. This module is designed to bridge the gap between their academic studies and the future professional life post-graduation. Student learning on the placement will be assessed by the University.

Opportunity for Postgraduate Study

Graduates may further their studies to attain a postgraduate qualification from universities around the world upon completion of this programme.

To pursue a Master’s qualification with University of Birmingham, you will require at least an upper second class award. The University of Birmingham currently offers a suite of postgraduate taught programmes at SIM.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have three GCE 'A' Level passes or minimum of 3 H2 level subjects with a pass or above. Advanced 1 – 16 Modules: An RMIT approved non-business diploma from any of the local polytechnics. Advanced 2 – 12 Modules: An RMIT approved relevant business diploma from SIM or any of the local polytechnics. Other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the university. English Language Requirements: Applicants who have not achieved a minimum of C or better in General Paper at AS/H1 Level or Knowledge and Inquiry at H2 must provide evidence of at least ONE of the following: IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL - Paper-Based = 580 (TWE 4.5); TOEFL - internet-Based Test (iBT) = 92, with minimum of 20 in all sections; Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE(A) = 58 (no communication band less than 50); Cambridge English: (Advanced CAE) (up to 2014) = 58 with no less than 'borderline' in each skill; Cambridge English: (Advanced CAE) 2015 onwards: 176 with no less than 169 in any component; RMIT English Worldwide (REW) Advanced Plus or equivalent; Successful completion of a recognized approved Diploma qualification or higher, where the language of instruction was English. Have successfully studied Singapore Cambridge 'A' levels at a Singaporean high school for at least 2 years and met the academic entry criteria of 3 A/H2 level passes. Other equivalent qualifications approved by RMIT will be considered.
