The Department of Microbiology and Immunology offers a B.S. in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with options in Biomedical Sciences and Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a minor in Genetics.

Pre-medicine, Pre-dentistry, Pre-Physician Assistant, and Pre-optometry

Students may prepare for admission to medical, dental, optometry, physician assistant and many other health profession and graduate schools by following the option in Biomedical Sciences. The Department provides advising on matters pertaining to the cell biology and neuroscience and the biomedical sciences curricula and the genetics minor. Advising on matters pertaining to admission to professional schools is provided by the Health Professions Advising Office.

The mission of Cell Biology and Neuroscience is to train students in a wide range of biological areas, with special emphasis on cell biology, neurobiology, developmental biology, physiology, anatomy and biophysics. Together, faculty and students in Cell Biology and Neuroscience study biological processes that span the continuum from single cells to the entire human body. Cell Biology and Neuroscience offers an undergraduate B.S. in Cell Biology and Neuroscience, with Biomedical and Neuroscience options, as well as M.S. and a Ph.D. graduate degrees in Cell Biology and Neuroscience.

Note: MSU's programs in the biological sciences are distributed across multiple departments. MSU does not have a single Department of Biology.

为来自中国的学生设计 Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission. English Proficiency Examination: Internet-based TOEFL test (iBT): 71, Revised TOEFL Paper-delivered test: 56, Paper-based TOEFL test (PBT): 525, IELTS: 6.0, PTE Academic: 48.
