COURSE CONTENT

You will already have a good foundation of business and management from your Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification. For the Business Management top-up degree, you will be offered the same opportunities as our current students where you select a variety of practice-based topics to explore.

All Level 6 students undertake the Management Project module, which is a 45 credit module where you write a 10,500 word research dissertation on a business management topic of interest. You also have a range of other modules to select and one important consideration is whether you would like to take a 10-week work placement to develop your employment skills, or take a range of different modules instead.

WORK PLACEMENTS

Our Business Management degrees have a strong vocational focus which is enhanced further in our optional 10-week full time work placement module in the final semester of your degree, from January to March. The placement provides you with the opportunity to implement skills and knowledge gained during studies into a real-world setting, allowing you to further develop your employability skills.

Whilst on placement you will also work on the 45 credit Management Project module, which focusses on investigating management issues within the organisation. Many placement students are offered full time jobs even before their results are published and students often comment that the placement was “extremely beneficial to finding employment opportunities straight after completion of the course”.

A large proportion of placements are in London and the South East, however some students have travelled overseas for their placements including Bahrain, India, Singapore and Australia.
