DePaul’s MS in General Psychology will prepare you for further doctoral training or for a range of psychology-related careers, such as statistical consulting and teaching. You’ll receive a solid grounding in theory, essential training in research methods and breadth of knowledge in several areas of psychology. Contribute to new developments in the field of psychology through a research project you’ll develop with guidance from your faculty mentor.

The MS in Psychology program can be completed in two years. Classes are offered during the day on the Lincoln Park Campus.

Learning Outcomes

u200bStudents will be able to:

• Identify major theoretical concepts in psychology, trace their historical development, and integrate theory, research, and domain-specific knowledge to explain and interpret how the field of psychology currently advances knowledge.
• Critique and synthesize theoretical and empirical articles from peer-reviewed scholarly journals in terms of theory, methods, data analyses, and conclusions in order to compose novel perspectives and ideas.
• Develop testable research questions, identify the strengths and limitations of research designs and data analysis techniques, conduct appropriate research and analytic strategies, and interpret the findings to situate them within the extant research literature in psychology.
• Describe and discuss the ethical issues associated with human subjects/participant protection and the sequence of procedures needed for IRB approval of research projects, and apply these ethical practices in research.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.TOEFL – minimum score of 80 iBT TOEFL with no section lower than 17; minimum score of 550 on the paper-based exam; IELTS & IELTS Indicator – minimum overall score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic. Pearson Test of English (PTE) – minimum English academic score of 53.
