在这里学什么？Do you enjoy problem solving and numeric puzzles? If you appreciate numbers and prefer equations and theorems to novels and paper writing, TROY’s bachelor’s in mathematics may be the perfect degree field for you!
As you work toward earning your bachelor’s in mathematics, you’ll find yourself a part of a close-knit family of scholars and mathematicians within TROY’s Department of Mathematics. You’ll find that within many of your math courses, you’ll enjoy small class sizes all of which are taught by caring and dedicated faculty members. Through your coursework, you will continue to grow in your understanding of mathematics and have the opportunities to pursue the topics of study that appeal to you the most.
At TROY, you’ll be provided with individual attention and sound instruction that helps promote investigation, discovery, use of technology, research and tools for life-long learning. Whether you are planning to pursue a graduate-level degree or to begin a successful career in mathematical, scientific, educational, surveying or technological fields, the training you receive at TROY will prepare you for your next step.
Outside of the classroom, you’ll have countless opportunities to dive deeper into your preferred areas of mathematics. Whether you choose to join TROY’s Mathematics Club, work on a faculty-mentored project or give a presentation at TROY’s annual MathFest, the work and connections you make outside of the classroom will help prepare you for your future career as a strong communicator and trustworthy mathematician. TROY also boasts its own chapter of the National Mathematics Honor Society known as Pi Mu Epsilon. Becoming a member of this prestigious organization will help build your resume. Moreover, as a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, you can receive opportunities to have paid travel expenses to the organization’s national summer conference where you can learn more about your field of study and network with other students and mathematics faculty from across the U.S.
