专业概况

在这里学什么？ Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering teaches you to combine digital electronics, microprocessors and software to develop and enable the potential of embedded computer systems.Embedded systems are found in mobile phones, games consoles, car engine management systems, traffic lights, and wireless routers, to name but a few. Unlike PCs and traditional desktop computers that are designed for multiple tasks, embedded computer systems will often have a dedicated function or purpose within a larger electromechanical system. They will often be small, rugged, low power. They will use microprocessors and microcontrollers, and link to sensors and sensor systems. Electronic and Computing Systems Engineers define the hardware, firmware, and software that enable and are implemented within these embedded computer systems.The theory of digital electronics and electrical engineering underpins the studies, but complimented and augmented with subjects such as computer architecture and design, programming and embedded software engineering, FGPA design, digital interfacing and development, control and management theory. And, like all computers, embedded systems are subject to Moore’s Law, and are increasing in capability, year by year, thus increasing the opportunity for application management and control.Our IET accredited MEng Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering course will provide you with the digital electronic, microprocessor and software knowledge, tools and experience, to design and implement embedded computer systems in a range of applications, products, environments and industries.

为来自中国的学生设计 AAB (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Communication and Culture and Citizenship Studies). In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. While no specific A Level (or equivalent) subjects are required, we strongly prefer combinations drawn from traditional (academic) subjects to demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These A Levels include: Ancient History, Biology, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Languages (non-native), Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology and Statistics.
