在这里学什么？ **Course Overview**- We’re the leading Higher Educational Institution in the UK for training BSL-English interpreters, so our British Sign Language and Deaf Studies Foundation Entry is a well renowned qualification.- Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to a full degree.- British Sign Language (BSL), sign linguistics and deaf studies at the University has long been recognised for world-leading research, continuous top student satisfaction rates and pioneering work on the development of employability skills.- Our course covers all aspects of deafness as a social and cultural phenomenon and will enable you to develop a fluency in British Sign Language. The wealth of modules available to choose from will enable you to tailor your studies to meet your individual interests and career goals. - It is estimated that more than 60% of British Sign Language English interpreters working in the UK have been taught on our courses.- We celebrated 25 years of teaching British Sign Language and Deaf Studies in 2018.**Why study with us**- Bachelor of Arts with Honours in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies (Foundation Entry) is ranked 2nd in the UK with 80% of students in graduate-level work or further study after graduating (Complete University Guide 2021).- Bachelor of Arts with Honours in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies (Foundation Entry) is ranked 3rd in the UK with 94% of students satisfied with the teaching quality (Times Good University Guide 2021).- Our staff members include Fellow of the Higher Education Academy Lynne Barnes, who is recognised for her work in BSL and Deaf Studies.**Further Information**- BSL is a compulsory element of the course in the first two years and is highly practical to ensure continued development.
