专业概况

在这里学什么？

Chemists who work for manufacturing companies analyze products as part of the quality control process. Those who toil in the medical field undertake toxicological studies that help doctors make decisions about treatment. Other chemists are heavily involved in the synthesis of new materials.

Some never step foot in a laboratory, and practice computational chemistry instead – using software models to analyze potential products prior to production. When they work for drug companies, they might winnow a large number of possible molecules and synthetic pathways down to just a few, and predict the properties of a new drug without it ever being manufactured in the laboratory.

If you are an aspiring chemist who finds these career opportunities fascinating, then a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from LTU might be the program for you. Chemists who start “at the bench” often move into other areas, such as marketing, sales and management.
