专业概况

From the runways of Fashion Week to the windows of Madison Avenue and the retail racks, New York is the creative hub of the fashion business. The Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and minor program offer student’s unique access to the exciting, high-powered fashion industry.

Fashion merchandisers work in fashion, beauty, textile, accessory, and retail organizations from the local region to the international marketplace. The major in fashion merchandising provides students with diverse skills and the breadth of knowledge to compete in today’s global environment for positions from start-ups through major conglomerates. Taking an omni-channel approach, students will be prepared to assume positions as buyers, sales managers, planners, logistics managers, product developers, and marketers in the organizations themselves in addition to the agencies, distributors or wholesalers that serve them.

Instructed by industry experts, the Fashion Merchandising curriculum integrates an experiential learning component through our student-run clothing boutique, The Student Body, where you will contribute to the retail store’s success by helping to choose inventory, manage operations, and advertise to the campus community. Secure internship positions at top locations such as Long Island’s luxurious Americana Manhasset shopping center and other top destinations.
