Overview

If you are a professional musician with a desire to heighten your abilities and expand your knowledge, this Masters provides an exciting opportunity.

It is structured around your needs as a professional performing musician, and offers the flexibility your working life demands. You will have limited lectures, focusing instead on one-to-one learning through our tutorial system and e-learning platform. In addition, your concurrent professional work can form part of your assessment process, particularly in the practical components of the course.

You will be taught by leading industry professionals. With the help of their expertise, you will develop advanced, technically assured and artistically informed performance skills that are suited to today's music industry.

Course detail

While this course focuses on developing your performance skills while you work, it will also equip you with a breadth of skills and information that will help to advance your career in music. You will have the opportunity to study different performance styles and experiment to develop your own.

Whether you are an instrumentalist, music teacher, composer or conductor, you will be able to supplement your studies in performance with more precise skills that are related to specialist areas. The core modules are complemented by theoretical and practical options, of which you can choose three. These optional modules are designed to keep the course as relevant to your areas of interest as possible.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need to have Bachelor degree from a national university with a GPA 2.6 / 4.0 or an overall average of 65% or higher; Bachelor degree from a high-ranking private college with an average of 85% or higher; Honours degree from any university in the UK or Republic of Ireland with a minimum of 2.2 or above are considered for the entry to postgraduate degree. Students need to have an IELTS 6.5 or above.
