专业概况

在这里学什么？

The Master of Arts in Economics program provides students with advanced training in economics to prepare for a career as an economist or to pursue a doctoral degree in economics. The Master of Economics program also develop students’ research skills and ability to communicate economic research.

Degree Requirements

Successful completion of the courses listed below with an overall grade point average of 3.0 is necessary to fulfill requirements for the degree. If the student makes a “D” or “F” in a core course, the course must be retaken. If the student earns a “D” or “F” in an elective course, the course may be retaken, or another elective taken in its place. All grades, including those for courses that are retaken, are calculated in the GPA required to fulfill the requirements for the degree.

Curriculum (33 Sh)

The curriculum for the Master of Economics program consists of 33 semester hours. The program has a thesis and non-thesis option. Students who choose the thesis option complete 24 hours of courses and 9 hours of thesis credit. Students who choose the non-thesis option must complete 30 semester hours of courses and a 3 semester hour Master’s Research course. Each option has a common 12 hours of regular core courses. Electives must be chosen in consultation with the student’s adviser.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours. English proficiency minimums: official TOEFL test overall score 70 or official IELTS test score 6.0 bands overall.
