The Troy University School of Accountancy is committed to providing students the accounting education required to enter the accounting profession and to pursue a successful professional career. The Troy University School of Accountancy offers an undergraduate accounting curriculum that provides the foundation for entering the accounting profession in the public, private, or governmental area. An undergraduate degree in accounting will also give you a strong foundation in business-related topics such as marketing, finance, and management. Earning your degree in Accounting gives you flexibility in choosing employment or furthering your education. If you choose immediate employment, you will have the skills to obtain an entry-level position in a public, private, or governmental entity. If you choose to further your education, you will have the coursework necessary to enter graduate programs in accounting such as the Master of Accountancy. As a TROY student, you will have an opportunity to seek a paid internship at one of the many local, regional and national firms or private company businesses and governmental agencies that recruit students from Troy University. The internships generally begin in January and last approximately three months. Importantly, the internship program is part of the accounting curriculum, so participation in the internship program does not delay graduation.

The mission of the School of Accountancy is to prepare students for career opportunities with increasing professional and managerial responsibility in regional public accounting firms as well as government and industry in the Southeastern United States and prepare undergraduate students for admission to graduate programs in accounting and business. To achieve this, the School of Accountancy facilitates a paid internship program (three credit hours) that will allow our students an opportunity for real-life accounting experience that takes them from the classroom into the real world. Recruiters have several opportunities each academic year to network with our students at on-campus events, such as Accountancy Day, Spring Meet the Firms, and Accounting Society meetings. Many of these internships result in full-time employment during the undergraduate program.
